Training in the Goldfields
The Goldfields Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to residents and visitors of the region, catering to all age groups. The service is supported by locally based, multi-disciplinary teams located in regional centres such as Kalgoorlie and Esperance, with regular outreach to outlying areas. Psychiatry registrars have the opportunity to work in various settings, including community mental health teams, child and adolescent mental health services, and drug and alcohol treatment programs. The service also offers telehealth support and clinical liaison with hospitals within the region, ensuring a broad and diverse training experience.
RANZCP Training Posts
While there are currently no accredited RANZCP psychiatry training posts, future inpatient and community posts are planned in coming years.
